President – Rev. Dr. Joanne Solis-Walker
Joanne Solis-Walker is an ordained minister of The Wesleyan Church. She has a PhD in Organizational Leadership and Development with an emphasis on Ecclesial Leadership. Rev. Solis-Walker serves as Director of Education for Latin@s at Wesley Seminary at Indiana Wesleyan University and as Chair of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Formation in The Wesleyan Church. Dr. Solis-Walker contributed to pioneering the first ATS accredited Spanish Master of Divinity offered primarily online, designed to be culturally responsive to the needs of the Hispanic-Latino community. Joanne is a missional coach and church consultant, focusing on the areas of Hispanic Church Planting and Transitioning into a Multicultural Church. La Dra. Joanne is the president of AICR (Academy of Intercultural Church Research), Vice-President of AETH (Asociación para la Educación Teológica Hispana) and co-editor of Didache: Faithful Teaching, an online academic journal. Joanne is a dynamic speaker and travels extensively in the U.S. and internationally. She is of Puerto Rican descent, born in New Jersey, and lives in Florida with her husband Dan, their miracle daughter Adriana, and the family boxer…Kahlua Faith. She loves the Lord, loves His people and loves to sing, travel and spend time with family and friends.
Vice President – Urban D.
Tommy “Urban D.” Kyllonen has been in full time urban ministry for over 20 years at Crossover Church in Tampa, Florida (www.crossoverchurch.org). He has been the lead pastor for over 12 years. Under his leadership the church has grown from 40 to over 1,000. This multi-ethnic, multi-generational, economically diverse church has become a model. As they grew they relocated into a 43,000 square foot retail building that was a former Toys R’ Us in the heart of Tampa’s inner-city. Outreach Magazine recognized Crossover as one of America’s Most Innovative Churches. Crossover has also been featured in USA Today, Newsweek, CBS News, BET News, and several regional media outlets. Tommy has also been featured on TBN, 700 Club, and regularly on CTN and JUCE TV Networks. Urban D. is an internationally known hip-hop artist that has released 8 full length albums and several remix projects (www.urband.org). He has performed and spoken at concerts and conferences across the U.S. as well as overseas in Japan, Australia, The UK, Germany, and Nigeria.
In 2007 he authored the book “Un.orthodox” published by Zondervan and in 2012 he authored “Next steps on your spiritual journey” which is used as a resource to give out to new believers from the urban context at his church and many others. His latest book “ReBuild – Reset your life, Renew Your Church, Reshape Your World” released through IVP (InterVarsity Press) in October 2015. Tommy is also the publisher of S.O.U.LMAG Magazine (www.soulmag.tv) which has produced 26 issues. This magazine has become the voice of the Christian Hip-Hop Community with a readership in the tens of thousands. The magazine also has a TV Show “S.O.U.LMAG TV” which Tommy hosts on JUCE TV Network & Vertical TV. Tommy is also the founder of the Flavor Fest Urban Leadership Conference (www.flavorfest.org ) which is in it’s 16th year and has trained over 5,000 leaders since it’s inception. He also founded the Urban Coaching Network, where he has trained over 60 urban church planters. He lives in Tampa, Florida with his wife Lucy and his two daughters Deyana and Sophia.
Secretary – Oneya Okuwobi
Oneya serves as the Director of Cultural Inclusion at Peoples Church (Cincinnati, OH). She is a Ph.D student in sociology at Ohio State University. Oneya is co-author of Multiethnic Conversations. It is the first personal devotional and small group study on multi-ethnic life and church designed for people in the pews. Oneya also leads city cohorts for the Mosaix Global Network. Journal Editor – Andy Merritt
Andy is an ordained minister in The Wesleyan Church with 16 years of ministry experience. Eight years ago he planted Rivertree Community Church in Jackson, Michigan where he continues to serve as Lead Pastor. In addition to his pastoral role Andy is currently a student at Wesley Seminary and serves The Wesleyan Church helping to produce Church Planter Assessment Centers. He also serves as an Adjunct Faculty member at Spring Arbor University teaching Church Planting and Church Growth. Andy is the author of three books, including Completely Reckless and Resonant Frequency. Andy lives in Jackson, Michigan with his wife Janelle and their three kids.
